Re: Welcome
Dear Students,
Welcome to the online class, EDSE 179, Managing Behavior and Emotional Problems of Exceptional Children. We will begin our work during a mandatory in-person first class meeting Tuesday, February 7th at 6pm-8pm in room 331 of Sweeney Hall at San Jose State University. I will provide information about the requirements of the course and an orientation to the online format. This semester we will meet face-to-face during the orientation session and at the end of the semester for the final project on May 9th at 6:00pm. You will complete assignments in 11 online seminars over this semester. The amount of time that you will devote to the class over each week will be approximately 3-5 hours; the assignments can be completed any time within the week. A checklist for course requirements follows:
Purchase the two texts from the bookstore:
1. Albert, L. (1996). Cooperative Discipline. Circle Pines, Minnesota:
American Guidance Service.
2. T. J. Zirpoli; 4th Edition (2005). Behavior Management: Application
for Teachers Third Edition. Merrill Prentice Hall.
